Weeks 20 and 21 - Support: Help Desk and SLA
This week we will continue to consider the Help Desk. Slides are also available for the next topic, where the nature of service level agreements (SLAs) is examined, together with response and resolution targets...this links closely with the targets in the coursework.

Can you explain to me the work packages part of the coursework, dont understand it thanks
ReplyDeleteThe week 6 slides go through work breakdown structure, showing how a project is broken down into work packages; work packages are broken down into activities; activities are broken down into tasks. You only need to go down as far as activities for the coursework.
DeleteWhat you are trying to do is group together related activities so that it is easier to manage the project (e.g. one person might have responsibility for one work package, someone else responsible for another one.
If you were planning a holiday, you might have one person arranging transport, someone else arranging accommodation, etc...

DeleteThe Appendix requirements are: "Include an appendix of material used in research for this report (e.g. search results relating to project staff recruitment or equipment). The appendix may contain printouts and/or commercial vendor literature."
DeleteSo if you have done some background research that indicates what you would pay members of your team (e.g. from a jobs website) or what you would pay for equipment of a given specification (e.g. from PC-selling websites) or other useful information that supports your report, this is where it goes!
