This week we will consider enhancement requests - asking for changes to a system, to correct problems, or to bring in new ideas, as part of the support function
I have provided a copy of the slides in a slightly different way - please let me know how you get on with this method.
We will be providing further feedback on coursework in the seminar and workshop sessions.
Section 7 requires us to do a maximum of 10 pages however, I don't know how to fill out 10 pages. The Gantt chart can be fitted into 1 page. What else do we have to include?
ReplyDeleteThere is a maximum of ten pages to allow about a month to a page. The Gantt chart should include activities within each work package, so each work package will have a number of components. For example, training may need to be split between training different staff groups (help desk staff, tailors, administrators, etc) and different locations (Bow, Stanmore, Streatham, Richmond). Data migration may be ETL in some cases, but where manual data entry is required, it is likely that will also need to be spread across different locations. Some items are not specifically stated in the outline schedule provided, but they will still need to be done (e.g. hiring staff for the project team, data migration, staff training, documentation, etc).
DeleteHope this helps.
instead of using partially of the project plan key dates table to do the work package can i do the work package differently entirely but relating the some pieces of the project plan table and also some pieces which are not included with the project plan table eg data migration as a package
ReplyDeleteNot sure I understand what you are asking. Everything that is in the work breakdown structure needs to be in the Gantt chart, and everything in the Gantt chart must also appear in the work breakdown structure. Data migration needs to be included; at which level it appears in your work breakdown structure is part of your project plan.
Deletethe coursework states that the work package is done per page does it have to be exact like that or can we do 2 work packages per page as mine consists of 12 work packages
ReplyDeleteThe idea is that people will have different numbers of work packages, each work package can take up to one page. You will need to describe the activities within each work package (not just bullet points) so that you could expect to use about a page for each work package to cover the necessary detail. If you need less than one page to cover the content, that's fine, but it would be best not to split work packages over pages.
